ImmuniWeb conducted a study on the cybersecurity of the top 100 largest airports in the world (Asia, Europe, North America, Australia, Africa, and South America). According to the findings, 97 out of 100 airports have cybersecurity risks – vulnerable web sites and mobile applications, misconfigured public cloud or data leaks. Almost all airport websites (97%) are running on outdated software and that’ s not all. 76% of sites are not GDPR compliant, 24% contain known and exploitable vulnerabilities.

While assessing the level of security of web-sites, experts used the gradation from A + to F where A + is the best possible grade. It also means that experts found no problems. Only 3 international airports that successfully passed all the tests without a single major issue being detected. Also, experts found that 53 sites worked on outdated software, 38 contained vulnerable components, 10 used an outdated CMS, and 6 used a vulnerable CMS.

Which airports are in the top three for cybersecurity? These are Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and Dublin Airport.
