New Cybersecurity Exposure Index (CEI) – Ukraine among the most exposed to cyber threats

As the world faces the new post-COVID 19 reality, the countries’ becoming more and more aware of ensuring the security of their digital infrastructures.

Cybercrime can take many forms:

– from endpoint cyberattacks aimed at gaining unauthorized access, stealing data and extorting money by blocking access to files or computer systems

– to cloud cyberattacks aimed at compromising virtual machines and using them as weapons

New Cybersecurity Exposure Index research (CEI) provided by PasswordManagers.co password security resource unveils which countries are the most and least vulnerable to cyber threats.

This report is issued every year in collaboration with Microsoft and the International Telecommunication Union. The index measures 108 countries based on five of the most significant types of endpoint and cloud cyberattacks alongside the level of cybersecurity commitment.

“Cybersecurity is imperative to secure digital infrastructures, devices, and identities and while some countries may be more exposed than others, the commitment to protect against cybercrime should dominate the priorities of every organization and individual.

Depending on where you reside, you may be more or less exposed to cybercrime but, by taking the appropriate steps, such as using a password manager to securely store your credentials, browsing the web via a VPN when using unsecured public WiFi and employing security software, you substantially increase your protection against cyberattacks,” says Josh Frisby, founder of PasswordManagers.co.

An exposure classification scale varies from very high, high, moderate, low, to very low. The CEI (Cybersecurity Exposure Index) calculates exposure level from 0 to 1, where the higher the score, the higher the exposure to cyber threats.
