{"id":4278,"date":"2022-10-10T10:29:38","date_gmt":"2022-10-10T08:29:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/10guards.com\/?p=4278"},"modified":"2022-10-11T12:13:29","modified_gmt":"2022-10-11T10:13:29","slug":"the-worlds-30-cyber-superpowers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/10guards.com\/fr\/blog\/2022\/10\/10\/the-worlds-30-cyber-superpowers\/","title":{"rendered":"Auto Draft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"qtranxs-available-languages-message qtranxs-available-languages-message-fr\">D\u00e9sol\u00e9, cet article est seulement disponible en <a href=\"https:\/\/10guards.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4278\" class=\"qtranxs-available-language-link qtranxs-available-language-link-en\" title=\"en\">en<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/10guards.com\/ua\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4278\" class=\"qtranxs-available-language-link qtranxs-available-language-link-ua\" title=\"ua\">ua<\/a>.<\/p><p>Harvard&rsquo;s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs released its updated 2022 National Cyber Power Index (NCPI), a follow-up to its 2020 index that ranks 30 countries according to their capability and intent to pursue eight objectives of cyber power.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cStates continue to expand their capabilities to achieve multiple objectives in Cyberspace,\u201d said the authors of the National Cyber Power Index 2022.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key items the report notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The United States remains atop the list (Top 10 and full Top 30 is below.)<\/li>\n<li>russia moved ahead of the United Kingdom into third place (China remains second), \u00ab\u00a0largely as a result of greater demonstrations of intent and capability in the fields of espionage, destructive attacks, and domestic surveillance.\u00a0\u00bb<\/li>\n<li>Australia jumped from 10th in 2020 to 5th in this year&rsquo;s index; France fell three spots from 6th to 9th; and Germany, Canada, and Japan fell out of the Top 10.<\/li>\n<li>Moving into the Top 10 were the Republic of Korea \u2013 7th, up from 16th; Vietnam \u2013 8th, up from 18th; and Iran \u2013 10th, up from 22nd.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #afcf60;\"><strong>Ukraine is close to the Top 10, coming in 12th, but making a giant leap from 29th in 2020, driven by increases in cyber defense, intelligence, and destructiveness.<\/strong><\/span> Ukraine is side by side with Canada, ranked 13, and Germany, ranked 11.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The war in Ukraine helped with the increasing positions of both russia and Ukraine and led to russia leapfrogging the U.K. in the rankings. Within two objectives, commercial gain and destructive capability, russian cyber power has increased relative to that of the U.K., largely because of their undertaking of more cyber operations that have been publicly reported in these areas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The index consists of 29 indicators, including attributed cyber attacks, data protection laws, technical standards and internet governance, cyber research, cyber crime and enforcement, and more, using publicly available knowledge of cyber capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These indicators are evaluated across eight objectives: financial, surveillance, intelligence, commerce, defense, information control, destructive, and norms.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Countries often hide their true cyber capabilities, \u201cparticularly destructive, defensive and espionage capabilities and their reliance on domestic national security structures,\u201d the report notes. \u201cWe suspect this is the case for most states in relation to covert or military capabilities, but specifically for China, Israel, Iran, and North Korea.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Among the 30 to cyber superpowers, the top-ranking objective of seven nations is surveillance.
